Health Care Benefits

Medical
Tyco Electronics offers comprehensive medical and
hospitalization coverage. Most office visits are only $15 ($30 for
visits to specialists) and, after a small deductible, the Company
covers 80% of the costs of most services.

Prescription Drug Program
Included in the medical program is a highly competitive prescription plan. Eligible generic prescriptions are available for as little as $16 for a 90 day supply.

HealthMatters Wellness Program
At Tyco Electronics, we want our employees to be healthy. Our wellness program, designed to get employees healthy and keep them healthy, uses health assessment, advocacy and decision support tools, along with a wealth of educational programs and communications.

Dental
Tyco Electronics provides comprehensive dental coverage

Paid Time Off Benefits

At Tyco Electronics, our time off benefits provide employees with a work/family balance.

Vacation
Employees can receive up to 5 weeks of vacation dependent
upon years of service. New hires are eligible for 10 days of vacation, increasing to 15 days in their 5th year of employment with the Company.

Personal/Sick Time
Employees are eligible for up to 48 hours of personal time annually.

Holidays
Tyco Electronics provides 10 paid holidays annually.

Income Protection Benefits

  • Short-Term Disability (STD) - An STD program is provided in the event of illness or injury.
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD) - Tyco Electronics offers the option of a LTD program providing 60% of monthly salary in the event of a permanent disability.
  • Life Insurance - 1 times annual salary life insurance provided by the Company, at no cost, to the employee. Employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves and their dependents.
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) - 1 times annual salary AD&D insurance provided by the Company, at no cost, to the employee. Employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves and their dependents.
  • Business Travel Accident Insurance - This insurance provides additional company-paid coverage to employees traveling on business.

Wealth Accumulation Benefits

401(k)
Save for retirement through before-tax and/or after-tax payroll contributions by investing in a diverse range of investment options. The Company matches $5 for every $1 you contribute, up to the first 1% of your eligible pay. The Company match increases based upon your years of service after 10 years. Company match contributions are credited to your account each pay period. After completing 3 years of service with Tyco Electronics, you become 100% vested in all company matching contributions and related earnings.  Employees are automatically enrolled at a contribution rate or 2% pre-tax within 4-6 weeks following their hire date.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
Purchase shares of Tyco Electronics stock on a monthly basis through convenient payroll deductions and the Company matches 15% of your contributions, up to the annual maximum company match of $6,000. There are no holding requirements following the purchase, however employees who sell shares within 3 months of the purchase date will not be allowed to contribute for 12 months following the sale of those shares. Any dividends paid on Tyco Electronics stock are reinvested to purchase additional shares.  New hires in the U.S. may enroll via the stock plan administrator's web site as soon as administratively possible following their hire date (generally, 3-4 weeks following hire date).
